‘Feng Shui Friday’ at the Red Door to support local food bank
The Red Door Gift Store has partnered with professional feng shui consultant and author, Terri Perrin, Fine Art of Intention Feng Shui, to introduce people to the ancient art of feng shui and to support the Salvation Army Food Bank.
‘Feng Shui Friday’ will be held from 2 – 7 p.m. on November 18th, 2011, at the Red Door Gift Store, 702A Memorial Avenue, Qualicum Beach.
Admission is by donation of a non-perishable food item for the food bank. The public is welcome to attend on a drop-in basis to ask questions about feng shui or may sign up for a free 30-minute Introduction to Feng Shui talk at 3:00, 4:30 or 6:00 p.m. (Seating for the presentations is limited and pre-registration is recommended.)
“Many people think that feng shui is a ‘new age’ phenomenon,” explains Perrin. “It is, in fact, based on over 4,000 years of ancient traditions that recognize the architectural design and location a home, as well as a myriad of other factors, have an effect on the people who live there. Whether the effect is positive or negative is within our control. Anyone who is interested in better health, increased wealth and improved relationships will benefit from learning about feng shui.”
Perrin explains that the school of feng shui that she practices and teaches is based on these age-old traditions but has been adapted to suit North American culture. It is easy to implement into home design and décor … with amazing results. In addition to free feng shui tips and the three scheduled presentations, Perrin will be autographing her new book: Fine Art of Intention Feng Shui: Complete Guide to Feng Shui Crystals.
“There is no charge to attend Feng Shui Friday,” explains Red Door Gift Store’s owner, Marlo Coulson, “but we encourage people to make a donation to support the local food bank to help them fill their shelves in advance of the Christmas season. Considering that the practice of feng shui is all about creating positive energy, we felt it would be fitting to do something good for the community, too.”
