Feng shui workshop will offer insight into how to create peaceful outdoor spaces
Despite the snow and cold we have experienced in the past few weeks, many spring flowers are staring to bloom and Comox Valley gardeners are eager to get growing! While it may be too early in the season to put out your bedding plants, now is a good time to think about what you can do to turn your outdoor living space into a peaceful oasis. Applying the most basic principles of feng shui can help you create garden spaces with positive and balanced energy.

Gardens represent an attempt to recreate the perfection of nature and the unity of human beings. It is an art form where we can use colours, textures and natural elements to create spaces that can nourish our bodies and souls. I like to think of my garden as a blank canvas… bare earth that is not a lifeless void but an energetic space brimming with potential.
Simple acts, like recycling old plant pots, cutting back dead vines, picking up dog feces, and removing such things as rotting driftwood, bones, antlers -- anything that is symbolic of something “dead” -- from your yard can cause an immediate positive energy shift.
People interested in feng shui often limit its use to the inside of their homes, but there are a myriad of ways it can easily be applied outside, too. Clearing clutter is just the start.
